<!– content –><p>Dec.8, Kohalpur- Galkot Durbar is located in-between Harichaur Bazaar and the mountains. The historical palace has become a center of attraction for tourists of late.</p>
<p>A large number of people are daily thronging the palace for enjoying scenic beauty and merry-making. However, the palace which was artistically built using pebbles, mud, bricks, and wooden materials in 1979 BS is now deteriorating.</p>
<p>People are crowding up here, especially for taking snapshots, creating videos, and enjoying its surrounding. Due to easy access to roads, tourists from different parts of the country are turning up to the historical palace at Harichaur.</p>
<p>Nearby the palace, there is a sculpture of Deuba and Gaighat falls at Tarakhola. Most of the tourists reaching the sculpture and falls also do not miss visiting the palace. Locals said that the inflow of domestic tourists to the palace has increased with easy access of vehicles to the historical site.</p>
<p>Akash Pariyar, a resident of Bharatpur, Chitwan, who came to explore Dhorpatan also visited the Galkot Durbar. He commented that the palace which is located in a peaceful atmosphere attracted anyone. “We are fortunate to get the opportunity to see and enjoy the century-old heritage. Our country has a wealth of such antique places which has a higher potential to draw the attention of domestic and foreign tourists. The beauty of the palace has captivated me a lot”.</p>
<p>Pariyar said he had come up with a plan to reach Dhoraptan, Kalika Temple, Panchakot, sculpture, and Galkot Palace while turning up to Baglung. He noted that domestic and foreign tourists can be further attracted to the areas if the existing tourism hotspots are managed well with services. “I had explored the antique palace through a youtube video. I was eager to visit the place. But, I could not do that as I was in an overseas country at the moment”.</p>
<p>Pariyar who has been residing in Japan said, “I had reached the popular religious and tourism spots of Baglung this time”. Dipesh Giri, a resident of Musikot, Gulmi, said it was his fifth visit to the Galkot Durbar. “Earlier, there was no good road connectivity to reach the place. Now the road access to the palace has improved. Inflow of tourists to the unexplored tourism site has also increased”, he shared.</p>
<p>According to the locals, daily 200 plus domestic tourists come to visit the place. The number of visitors is high on public holidays. The spokesperson of Galkot municipality, Him Bahadur Bhandari said the Galkot palace has attracted both domestic and foreign tourists.</p>
<p>As the palace is carrying a historical legacy, it needs to be conserved, he said. “The palace is still under personal ownership. We had discussed carrying out maintenance in the physical infrastructure of the palace despite having personal ownership. The historical palace is deteriorating. Now it is being repaired”, he added.</p>
<p>The palace is stretched over five ropanis of land. It existed till 2017 BS. Bharat Bam Malla was the then King. It was the place through which Galkot was being governed. Till that time, the administrative, judicial, and economic powers of the Galkot State were centralized in the palace.</p>
<p>The first-elected government had decided to eradicate principalities and monarchs. It was the then King Bharat Bam Malla who put forth the proposal to the cabinet. He was elected Member of Parliament in 2015 BS.</p>
<p>The grandson of King Malla, Manjesh Bam Malla has now put his efforts into the conservation of the palace. “We have started repairing the palace adopting the original antique style. It is being reconstructed in a way to develop the ground floor as a museum and the upper floors for personal use. Other structures around the palace are also to be managed this year,” Malla shared (RSS).</p>

<!– content –><p>Kathmandu: The hotels and restaurants in Lakeside, Pokhara have been offered logos showcasing their indicator-based standards. The Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Kaski has started distributing logos with ratings to the hotels and restaurants based on food hygiene.</p>
<p>Food Research Officer Deepak Kunwar shared that logo with a rating was offered to 14 Resorts, hotels, and restaurants in Pokhara in collaboration with Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) and Hotel Association Nepal (HAN).</p>
<p>According to him, the rating of hotels and restaurants has been determined based on various 50 indicators as per the provisions of the Hotel Restaurant Rating Directive, 2074.</p>
<p>Each indicator carries two scores, Kunwar said, adding the logo of three stars with green has been offered to the hotels securing 90 plus score, two stars with green logo to the hotels obtaining 80-89, and one star with green logo (satisfactory) to the hotels securing 65-89 and yellow logo (general) to the hotels obtaining 50-64 score.</p>
<p>Based on the indicators, Mount Kailash, Fresh Element, Bar Peepal Resort, Hotel Sarobar, Temple Tree Resort, and Atithi Resort were offered a three-star rating.</p>
<p>Likewise, Meet Five, Hour Café, Paradiso, Dunga Restrau, Moon Dance Hotel Sahara, and Hotel Iceland are rated under the satisfactory category. Chairperson of Consumers Forum Gandaki Kapilnath Koirala said the exercise would help deliver quality service in tourist city.</p>
<p>He further said other hotels and restaurants would also pay attention to performing in a responsible manner after the distribution of logo measuring standards of the hotels. <!– content –><p><strong>12 October (2022)</strong> – The third ‘Listikot-Dugunagadhi Mountain Trail Race’ will be taking place in Sindhupalchowk on coming November 3.</p>
<p>The event aims to promote historic and religious importance of Dugunagadhi and Listikot in Sindhupalchowk, according to the organiser Nepali Army.</p>
<p> The 24.5 kilometers race starting from the dry port on the banks of the Bhotekoshi River will go through the new bridge before concluding at Dugunagadhi, the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information said.</p>
<p> The Listimai Temple and Dugunadahi remain along the route that was used during the Nepal-Tibet war.</p>
<p> The Nepal Army took initiatives to organise the competition that is expected to develop the place as a tourist destination by exposing historic and religious importance of Dugunagadhi and Listikot in Sindhupalchok district, it has been said.</p>
<p> The race is divided into three categories–open, women and the one for the residents of the district. Under open, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will receive Rs 110,000 in cash, Rs 75,000 and Rs 55,000 respectively. Similarly, under women, winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will get Rs 60,000 in cash, Rs 35,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively and certificates.</p>

<!– content –><p>A technical team of the European Union (EU) has made positive observation about Nepal’s aviation safety following an audit of Nepal’s entire aviation safety sector.</p>
<p>A technical operation team of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) of the EU had arrived in Nepal and carried out the audit from October 7 to 9.</p>
<p>The three-member technical team of the EASA is scheduled to submit its report to Nepal on October 28, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said. The CAAN would respond to the issues pointed out in the report.</p>
<p>Spokesperson of CAAN Jagannath Niraula expressed the confidence that EU would remove Nepal from its air safety list since the technical team was positive towards Nepal’s aviation safety adding that the team has studied and interacted about the progress Nepal made in the area of aviation safety.</p>
<p>“The CAAN would respond to the issues raised in the report and the final decision to remove Nepal from EU’s air safety list would be decided once the final report was submitted to the EU,” according to Spokesperson Niraula.</p>
<p>The EU has kept Nepal on its air safety list for the past one decade due to which the airlines companies registered in Nepal are not allowed to make flights to the EU member states. As a result the aircrafts of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and Himalayan Airlines are not allowed to make their flights to the EU sky but the aircrafts from EU member states could use Nepal’s sky in an accessible manner.</p>
<p>Niraula claimed that the technical team is satisfied after the technical studies and consultations with the CAAN officials.</p>
<p>The EU technical team carried out its audit by based on different aspects including International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) audit report that puts Nepal above the global average, Civil Aviation (Investigation of Accident) Regulation passed from the Council of Ministers and others.</p>
<p>The CAAN stated that the EU technical team conducted its assessment on eight areas including legislation, personal licensing, flight operation, accident investigation, air navigation services, aerodrome and ground aides and others.</p>
